"WE CAN CONNECT WITH OURSELVES WHEN WE CONNECT WITH THE NATURAL WORLD"
WALK AND TALK COUNSELLING
The safe confidential outdoor areas near my practice allow us to either walk or sit overlooking the sea or meet at a specific area I have chosen for Outdoor Walk and Talk Counselling. These maybe woods, open fields or Seaside walks. We can use seating along the way if you need. Counselling outside may often enable you to get perspective on your current situation. We will work at your own pace and all sessions last 50 mins.
YOU MIGHT BE SOMEONE WHO PREFERS BEING OUTDOORS.
So it might make sense to go outdoors when things get challenging emotionally.
I have always found being outside helpful in the way I process my own thoughts and feelings. Opening up new ways of seeing a situation. Throughout my own life this has been a source of peace even in times which may be painful and challenging. Which is why I made the decision to work with clients outside as well as in the Counselling room. Training in this way, I have found great value and benefits in working in an outside environment. Clients have said they have found its helpful in becoming aware of how they feel and sometimes enabling them to find peace from constant over thinking. It may also allow us to see a new perspective on a situation.
Counselling outdoors is very similar to an indoor-based consultation in that it lasts 50 minutes, is safe and confidential and can be at a regular time in the week. I have chosen to work in peaceful areas in and around Bexhill. We will need to be mindful of weather conditions of cause and sometimes conduct session in a warm counselling room if that need arises.
Outdoor therapy generally means we work side by side and some adults, particularly young adults, find this less intense and allows for easier conversations.
WHAT PEOPLE SAY:
“I've really found counselling outside less intimidating than going to a counselling room.
I feel more comfortable outside”
“I like walking side by side rather than being face to face in a room.
Because it’s less formal than being in a room I can relax and talk things through more easily”
